backup exec 2012 for SQL Server 2008

Hi Guys,

Let's say I have the below backup in placed for SQL Database via backup exec:

1. daily full db backup to tape - 11pm

2. daily fill db backup to disk - 9pm

3. hourly transaction log backup do disk

When comes to restoration, am i able to use the full db backup taken to tape with the hourly transaction log backup taken to disk (1+3) in order to perform a point in time recovery? Or point in time recovery can only works using 2+3?
