Full back up Failed which set will incremental back up refer to

Hello,

I had recently updated root password for my application servers . I forgot to update the same in the Symantec backup scheduler resulting in full backup failing for the same servers. Can, someone please tell me as to how will the incremental back up scheduled next will refer to since this full back up has now failed.
